Description: This webinar brings together leading international experts to explore the latest advances in antithrombotic therapy for stroke prevention. The session will review the mechanisms and therapeutic rationale behind emerging agents currently under investigation, including next-generation anticoagulants and antiplatelet therapies. Particular attention will be given to Factor XI/XIa inhibitors and other innovative approaches that may redefine the safety–efficacy paradigm in both primary and secondary stroke prevention. Participants will gain critical insights into key findings from recent and ongoing clinical trials and will discuss how these developments may shape future clinical practice.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the mechanistic rationale of emerging antithrombotic agents targeting Factor XIa for secondary stroke prevention
- Summarize key results from recent Phase II and Phase III trials evaluating efficacy and safety of FXIa inhibition in combination with antiplatelet therapy after non-cardioembolic ischemic stroke
- Discuss potential implications of these innovative therapies on current clinical best practices for secondary stroke prevention
